A fresh angle on climate change - example of data-driven longform article with narrative lead

This piece was the culmination of a month of extensive interviewing and data sleuthing. It demonstrates my ability to combine analysis and interviews to find and capture a complex issue, and balance the human and technical elements of a story. This is, to my knowledge, the first article that discusses how extreme weather can price people out of the housing market at a time when they are already reeling from the aftermath of natural disaster.

Apart from the invaluable input of my editors, I pitched, reported on, and wrote this story independently.
